In this 30 minute, open level class we will work on exercises and a short piece of choreography to develop the style and movement of the performance. We will show that even the simplest of steps can be made to look advanced. This class can be done without heels if you don’t have any or in other heeled shoes that aren’t tap shoes.

Objective: After attending this session, you should have a greater awareness of accents and feel more comfortable executing them in choreography or improvisation.
What you can expect to do during the session: This session is aimed at dancers who are around or above an Intermediate level. After a warm up you’ll learn some exercises that work on articulating accents, which you can take away with you and practice to build your technique. Then we’ll finish with a fun combo to music that has a focus on- you guessed it- accents!
Rebecca Keen

To learn complex, fun and exciting choreography that consists of the British & American style tap with a little hint of Irish in there too, to a upbeat Queen remix of “Another One Bites The Dust.” This piece I created was award winning choreography at the Dance World Cup in 2019, gaining incredible feedback from top tap professionals for its intricate choreography and innovative style. This class will be suitable for Intermediate/ Advanced level tappers who like a challenge but also like to have fun and enjoy this queen classic.

In this session we will start with a quick warm up and then go into some commercial tap choreography to today’s chart hits songs! In my classes I like to try and combine simplistic and more advanced steps to create a routine that will feel familiar but also challenging! After teaching the combination we will then do a short cool down to finish! After completing my session you should have greater awareness of timing and how combinations of seemingly simplistic steps make complex choreography!
Rebecca Hastings
6pm GMT
This session will be inspired by the high engery and dynamic style of The Nicholas Brothers and the music of jazz composer Jelly Roll Morton. I would like anyone attending the session to learn about these great people (if they don’t already know who they are!), challenge themselves to inform their musicality by using everything the music gives us and share the joy of tap and this great music! In the session we will do a warm up, followed by a routine inspired by The Nicholas Brothers to the song ‘The Jam’ from Jelly’s Last Jam, finishing with a cool down. In the routine we will focus on musicality and hearing the rhythms in the music to help us play them with our feet, playing with the steps to create a performance, and relaxation as the music picks up in speed.
