Suzanne is the Founder and Executive Producer of Tap Dance Festival UK. She originally hails from Wigan, Greater Manchester and is now a global citizen. It brings her real joy to co-create this platform and have the opportunity to bring local, national and international talent together to further the conversation and efforts to progress Tap Dance as a original African American Art form in the UK. She is delighted to bring Tap Dance Festival UK to the people for a forth year running, and is excited to blend Tap Dance enthusiasts from the UK with top national and international talent and inspire others to be blended by a wide variety of cultures, styles and rhythms.
Suzanne also referred to as ‘Suze’ or ‘Suzy Q’ was the recipient of a prestigeous UK Fulbright Award Scholarship which enabled her to re-locate to the New York City in order to follow her passion for Tap Dance and be taught and inspired by many of the Masters of the Dance including her mentor and friend Chloe Arnold. Whilst in NYC she was a member of Chloe Arnold’s Apt33 Tap Dance Company (www.apt33.com). During this time she also taught at leading academic institutions Parsons School of Design, Cornell Tech, CUNY and Harvard university. She earned a Master’s Degree in Management from the progressive ‘New School’ University which houses Parsons School of Design.
Prior to moving to New York Suzanne lived in Dubai, UAE where she co-founded a non-profit organization which caters for Dance Education and performances in schools across the UAE. She is passionate about creating opportunities which allow students from all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds to be immersed in the Arts, in order to further their creativity skills, leadership capacity, and which allow others to be empowered to follow their dreams, passions and own lines of enquiry.
