Known as one of “Tap’s Leading Ladies” by Dance Spirit Magazine, Maud Arnold (Dancer – Choreographer – Producer) is a member of Syncopated Ladies, recently appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America, BET’s 106 & Park, and performed at Topshop’s Flagship store in London for the launch of Beyonce’s clothing line Ivy Park after their latest viral videos covering Beyonce’s “Formation” and a Tribute to Prince “When Doves Cry.” Teaching and performing in Dubai UAE, Brazil, Japan, Spain, Croatia, United Kingdom, Russia, Canada, and all across the United States, Maud has quickly become a sought after teacher, judge and performer worldwide. Maud was also a former cover girl of Dance Spirit Magazine TAP issue.

Maud was seen performing onstage in sold-out concerts of Syncopated Ladies: Live in Dubai, DC, and NYC and appeared on Season 11 of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance with Syncopated Ladies as the Winner of the Dance Crew Battle. Maud can be seen in the 2014 Toyota Corolla “Style Never Goes Out of Style” National Commercial and has worked with Beyoncé on several commercials and music videos. Mentored and trained by Debbie Allen, Maud has taught at her dance academy in Los Angeles and her dance institute in Texas since the age of 19. Maud’s Television Credits Include: HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”, “Switched at Birth”, “Secret Talents of the Stars” as a featured dancer with Mya, on The Today Show and Fox 5. Maud is also the co-director and producer of the critically acclaimed, internationally recognized DC Tap Festival with her sister Chloe Arnold. They have been recognized by The US House of Representatives as arts preservers and ambassadors.

Maud produced TAP WORLD, a feature-length documentary with Hollywood Executive Producer, Dean Hargrove. She has recently starred in a series of commercials for Gap’s #MeetMeAtTheGap campaign, partnered with Cantu Beauty and performed at prestigious venues including the White House, the Democratic National Convention, New York Fashion Week, and the Global Citizens Festival.  What are you most looking forward to at Tap Dance Festival UK 2018?

I look forward to coming to the UK, I LOVE the UK! Meeting new dancers, seeing old friends and celebrating tap dance!


To you, what makes TDFUK different?

I am not sure, I have never been before.


Do you have any upcoming projects which you’d like to share?

I have a new tap shoe out with BLOCH with my sister Chloe and we have the 10th Anniversary of our tap festival in DC coming up in March!


Is there any advice you would give to anyone attending TDFUK18, or to any upcoming tappers/dancers?

Come open to learn, make mistakes, make friends and grow!! It’s going to be a great time and it is about sharing knowledge and joy!


And finally, what can we expect from you at TDFUK? Why should we come to your workshop?

I am a lot of fun! You can expect to sweat and SMILE!
